Facial PRP
Injected or applied with microneedling to improve texture, tone, fine lines and overall skin quality. Frequently chosen by patients who prefer to avoid any synthetic product entirely.
Category 03 · Boosters
Your own blood, concentrated into a platelet-rich plasma and returned to the tissue that needs repairing. Nothing synthetic, nothing foreign, and no possibility of rejection.
Your Own Blood
No synthetic material, no rejection risk
Six Areas Treated
Face to scalp, the most versatile option
Under-Eye Safe
Where filler is technically demanding
Established for Hair
Early to moderate thinning
In Short
PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, is prepared by drawing a small sample of your own blood and spinning it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets, which carry growth factors. The concentrate is then injected into the treatment area to stimulate repair and collagen production. At Elora Polyclinic in Dubai it is used on the face, under-eyes, neck, hands, body and scalp. A standard course is three sessions four weeks apart.
Where It Is Used
PRP is the most versatile treatment in this category because the material is your own tissue. It is used on the face, under-eyes, neck, décolletage, hands, body and scalp — there is no area where compatibility is a concern.
Options
01
Injected or applied with microneedling to improve texture, tone, fine lines and overall skin quality. Frequently chosen by patients who prefer to avoid any synthetic product entirely.
02
One of the most valuable applications, improving thin, crepey under-eye skin and the shadowing it causes. Safe in an area where filler is technically demanding and not always appropriate.
03
Injected into the scalp to support weakening follicles in early to moderate thinning. It strengthens hair that still exists and cannot regrow follicles that are gone.
Candidacy
01
Suitability is confirmed, including relevant blood conditions and medication. For hair, the scalp is examined to establish whether follicles are miniaturising or already lost.
02
A small sample is taken, typically ten to twenty millilitres — comparable to a routine blood test.
03
The sample is spun to separate the platelet-rich fraction. Preparation takes around fifteen minutes and is performed on site in front of you.
04
Applied while the sample is processing, so the appointment time is used efficiently.
05
Injected directly into the target area, or applied with microneedling for broader facial treatment and better superficial absorption.
06
Three sessions four weeks apart, with maintenance every six to nine months depending on the area and your response.

Benefits
PRP requires a blood draw at each session and a course of three treatments, with results appearing gradually rather than immediately. Response varies between individuals because the concentrate depends on your own platelet quality. Mild swelling, bruising and redness for one to two days are normal. PRP does not add volume, and it cannot regrow hair where follicles no longer exist. It is not suitable with certain blood disorders or anticoagulant therapy without medical clearance.
Recovery
Day 0
Redness and mild swelling for several hours. Pinpoint bruising at injection sites is common.
Days 1–2
Redness settles. Skin may feel tight or slightly sensitive.
Weeks 1–4
First improvement in texture and glow. For hair, reduced shedding is often the first sign.
Week 4 and 8
Second and third sessions. Improvement is cumulative across the course.
Months 2–3
Clearest visible result for skin. Hair response is assessed at three months.
Months 9–12
Maintenance session considered based on documented response.

The vampire facial is a marketing name for PRP applied with microneedling. It is the same underlying treatment — your own platelet-rich plasma delivered into the skin.
It works for hair that is thinning but still present, improving calibre and reducing shedding in early to moderate loss. It cannot regrow hair where the follicle has been lost entirely. If an area is genuinely bald, transplantation is the treatment and PRP is supportive.
A standard course is three sessions four weeks apart, for both skin and hair. Maintenance is typically one session every six to nine months, based on your documented response rather than on a fixed schedule.
It has an excellent safety profile because the material is entirely your own — no foreign substance, no allergy risk, no rejection. The main considerations are blood conditions or anticoagulant therapy, which are screened at consultation.
The blood draw feels like a routine blood test. Injections are performed under topical anaesthetic and most patients find them very manageable. Scalp treatment is generally described as the more uncomfortable of the two.
PRP uses your own tissue and has the stronger evidence base and broader area coverage. Exosomes are laboratory-derived, need no blood draw and show promising results particularly for hair and post-procedure recovery. Many patients use them together, and your practitioner will advise based on your goal.
