In Short

Botox is a purified neuromodulator injected into specific facial muscles to soften the expression lines they create. At Elora Polyclinic in Dubai we use Botox by Allergan and Dysport by Ipsen, selected per treatment area. It treats ten areas including forehead lines, frown lines, crow's feet, brow position, gummy smile, chin dimpling, jawline slimming and excessive sweating. Results appear in 3 to 7 days and last 3 to 4 months.

The Brands We Use

Products Selected per Area, Not per Clinic

The original and most extensively studied neuromodulator, with the largest body of published safety data of any brand. Predictable, precise diffusion makes it our default for delicate areas — around the eyes, the lip flip and the gummy smile — where spread has to be controlled tightly.

Diffuses slightly more widely than Botox and tends to have a marginally faster onset. That spread is an advantage across broad, flat areas — the forehead, the masseter for jawline slimming, and underarm hyperhidrosis — where even coverage matters more than pinpoint containment.

The two are not interchangeable and the difference is not marketing. They are dosed in different units, diffuse differently and suit different areas. Where a patient has responded poorly to one, switching brand is often the correct next step rather than simply increasing the dose.

Treatment Areas

What Botox Can Treat

Every area is assessed and dosed individually. These are the zones we treat and what each one achieves.

  • 01

    Forehead Lines

Horizontal lines across the forehead, softened while preserving natural brow movement.

  • 02

    Frown Lines

The vertical '11' lines between the brows — the most commonly treated area and usually the most rewarding.

  • 03

    Brow Lift

Selective relaxation of the muscles that pull the brow down, opening the eye without surgery.

  • 04

    Crow's Feet

Fine lines radiating from the outer eye, softened while keeping a natural smile.

  • 05

    Bunny Lines

Diagonal creases across the bridge of the nose that appear when you scrunch or smile.

  • 06

    Gummy Smile

Reduces excessive upper lip elevation so less gum shows when you smile broadly.

  • 07

    Lip Flip

A small dose to the upper lip border, gently everting the lip for more show without filler.

  • 08

    Chin Dimpling

Softens the pebbled, orange-peel texture caused by an overactive mentalis muscle.

  • 09

    Jawline Slimming

Masseter treatment that narrows a square jaw, relieves clenching and eases tension headaches.

  • 10

    Neck Bands

The Nefertiti lift — softening the platysmal bands that pull the jawline downward.

Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)

Injected into the underarms, palms or soles to substantially reduce sweat production for four to six months. Treated as a medical rather than cosmetic indication.

Real Patient Experiences

Candidacy

Is Botox Right for You?

You are likely a good candidate if

  • Dynamic expression lines that appear on movement
  • Wanting preventative treatment before lines become etched
  • A square jawline, clenching or grinding suited to masseter treatment
  • Excessive underarm sweating unresponsive to antiperspirants
  • In good general health and not pregnant or breastfeeding

This may not be the right treatment if

  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Neuromuscular conditions such as myasthenia gravis
  • Active skin infection at the injection site
  • Known allergy to botulinum toxin or its components
  • Deep static lines at rest, which need filler or resurfacing alongside

How Botox Is Performed, Step by Step

1

01

Facial Assessment in Motion

You will be asked to frown, raise your brows, squint and smile. Muscle strength and asymmetry are assessed in movement, because a face at rest tells you almost nothing about where to inject.

2

02

Brand and Dose Selection

Botox or Dysport is chosen per area, and units are calculated for your muscle strength rather than applied from a standard chart.

3

03

Mapping and Preparation

Injection points are marked and the skin cleansed. Topical anaesthetic is available but most patients do not request it.

4

04

Injection

A series of small injections using a very fine needle. Most patients describe a brief sting. The whole treatment takes fifteen to thirty minutes.

5

05

Immediate Aftercare

Stay upright for four hours, avoid exercise, heat and facial massage for twenty-four hours, and do not lie face-down that evening.

6

06

Two-Week Review

The result is assessed at full effect and refined if needed. This review is included and is what allows us to dose conservatively at the first appointment.

Benefits

Why Patients Choose This Treatment

Benefits

  • Two brands selected per area rather than one applied everywhere
  • Ten treatment areas including jawline slimming and hyperhidrosis
  • No downtime — most patients return to work immediately
  • Preventative use slows lines becoming etched at rest
  • Fully reversible by simply allowing it to wear off
  • Two-week review included, so dosing starts conservative

What to consider

Botox is a prescription medical treatment and results are temporary, lasting three to four months. Temporary bruising, mild headache or a heavy sensation in the first days can occur, and eyelid or brow drop is an uncommon complication that resolves on its own. It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain neuromuscular conditions. Deep static lines usually need a filler or booster alongside. Your practitioner will discuss all of this at consultation.

Recovery

Your Treatment Timeline

  1. Day 0

Small raised bumps at injection points settle within an hour. Stay upright for four hours and avoid exercise.

  2. Days 1–2

No visible change yet. Any pinpoint bruising can be covered with makeup after twelve hours.

  3. Days 3–7

Onset begins. Movement softens progressively rather than all at once.

  4. Day 14

Full effect and your review appointment. Any asymmetry is corrected at this point.

  5. Months 2–3

Peak result. Lines at rest continue to soften with repeated treatment.

  6. Months 3–4

Movement gradually returns. Most patients re-treat at this point to maintain the effect.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Botox cost in Dubai?

At Elora, Botox starts from AED 800 per zone, with three zones from AED 1,500. Final pricing depends on the number of areas treated and the units your muscle strength requires, and is confirmed at your complimentary consultation.

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport?

Both are botulinum toxin type A but they are different formulations, dosed in different units and not interchangeable. Botox diffuses in a more contained way, which suits delicate areas like around the eyes. Dysport spreads slightly more and has a marginally faster onset, which suits broad areas like the forehead and masseter. We select per area rather than per clinic preference.

Will I look frozen?

Not if the dose is right. A frozen look comes from over-dosing or from treating every muscle uniformly. We dose to your individual muscle strength, start conservatively and review at two weeks — because units can always be added but never removed.

How long does Botox last?

Typically three to four months. It tends to last slightly longer with repeated treatment, as the treated muscles gradually weaken. Very active or strong muscles, and regular intense exercise, can shorten duration.

Can Botox slim my jawline?

Yes. Treating the masseter muscles narrows a square jawline over roughly six to eight weeks, and it also relieves clenching, grinding and the tension headaches that come with them. It is one of the most requested treatments at Elora and typically needs repeating every four to six months at first.

Does it hurt?

Minimally. A very fine needle is used and most patients describe a brief sting per injection. Topical anaesthetic is available if you would prefer it, though most patients decline.

Can Botox be used preventatively?

Yes, and it is one of the most common reasons younger patients start. Softening the movement before lines become etched at rest slows the process by which dynamic lines become static ones. Preventative dosing is lighter than corrective dosing.

Where can I get Botox near Downtown Dubai?

Elora Aesthetics Polyclinic is about 10 minutes from Downtown Dubai, on Al Wasl Road in Al Bada'a. Botox here is doctor-led and conservatively dosed, with a complimentary consultation first and pricing confirmed before treatment.
